Roadhouse is a regular night of improvised performance hosted by Eleanor Sikorskiand Lewys Holt. For every edition they invite a line-up of brilliant dance artists to each perform for 30 minutes. No plan, no structure, just open improvisation.
Eleanor and Lewys will perform each night as the Roadhouse House Band. The night concludes with all the artists coming together for a spontaneous group improvisation.
A guest writer will document each night live on paper, providing proof that something actually happened (see roadhousenights.com/roadhouse-log).
Eleanor and Lewys think that improvisation is political. They see that there is lots of improvisation about, but no obvious place to do it or watch it.
This is a space for artists to practice performing and for audiences to practice watching.
